Does anyone have experience with findings in skin ultrasound of areas with suspicion of Lyme Disease? What would be the differential diagnosis?

Hi Fernanda:

  In patients with presumptive diagnosis of Lyme disease, usually the question for the sonographer is if we can find lesions suggestive of morphea ( cutaneous scleroderma),  because the appearance of morphea has been associated in some cases to the infection with  Borrelia burgdorferi which is the cause of Lyme Disease.
