The first tracing is the umbilical vasculature, the second is the ductus arteriosus.

This is an example of a recipient twin in twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome (TTTS). The fetus developed severe right heart failure with premature closure of the ductus arteriosus (the second Doppler tracing). Laser ablation was performed to eliminate the vascular connection, however, the recipient never recovered and died shortly after birth, despite multiple efforts (mechanical ventilation, nitric oxide, ECMO)
