How to make a diagnosis of Right sided aortic arch in 20 weeks of gestation ?

Identify fetal left and right sides. From the four-chamber view, perform a gradual cephalic sweep. Identify the trachea; this structure signifies the midline of the thorax. As the 3-vessel view is being imaged, identify the aortic arch in its axial plane. If the aortic arch lies to the left of the trachea, it is a left aortic arch. If is is on the right, then a right arch. I have posted some examples:

 

 

Normal left aortic and ductal arches...

 

 

Abnormal right-sided aortic arch with a left-sided ductus arteriosus...
