Every ultrasound specialty. One professional network.

Quite often equipment that is best for MSK US is not best for Vascular studies.  Some MSK mfg dont even do carotid studies.   Has anyone found a cost effective model for both disciplines?

thanks!

Dear Robert G Schwartz

I am practicing MSK since 1996 and have tried many machines, all hitech machines with 6-14 M.Hz can be ideal for the job.

The machines I found good were GE-LOGIC9 AND LOGIC 7

TOSHIBA XERIO (USING NOW A DAYS AT MY MORNING CLINIC) MYLAB50 (USING AT MORNING CLINIC AT MY INSTITUTE).

i HEARD PHILIPS IS ALSO GOOD--- MEDISONE I DIDNT FIND very attractive for MSK whereas portable machine by MINDRAY CHINA NAMED M-11 is excellent and the price is also less.

most of my MSK images are from toshiba xerio.

Transducers and softwares like THI and panoramic view are very helpfull in MSK.

I recommend looking at the Mindray MSK M7. It can be configured for vascular studies as well as MSK US. There is a standard vascular measurement package included and you can add a IMT measurement package as an option.

msultrasound.net has more info

If you have  a good machine..you will have good results in both MSK and Vascular studies.  The main factor is the experience of the person holding the probe.  I see so many MD's not utilizing all the equipment has to offer.  It is like riding a bike with 21 gears and only using 2 gears.
