Neurosonology Community

This community consists of professionals that perform sonography of the brain, cerebral circulation, the spine, and all peripheral nerves and muscles. Neursonology is applied to pathology at all life stages, from prenatal care to children and adults.

The current community officers are Mary Beth McCarville MD; Digna Cabral BS; and Beth Kline-Fath MD.

Please note that the time of the Neurosonology Community meeting at the AIUM Annual Convention has changed.  The community meeting will be held on Tuesday, April 9, from  11:30 am to 12:30 pm in the Majestic Complex on the 6th Floor. 

All those with an interest in neurosonology are invited to attend.  Attendees may earn up to 1 CME credit.

Hello! I am a new member of aium and practicing perinatologist in the Philippines . I am also a Professor in Obstetrics and Gyne . Fetal Neurosonography is a very new field  here in the Philippinesand very few are trained in this area  and I was wondering if somebody from the group could suggest where I can get additional training in this area even for a few weeks  .. thank you for whatever help you can give

I would like to recommend the book "Measurement in Pediatric Radiology" HOLGER PETERSON.  You can find ventricular size , width, ratio VR in term neonates and premature neonates.  Hope it helps.

$50,000 Available for Assessing Point-of-Care Ultrasound Applications

The AIUM’s Endowment for Education and Research (EER) has issued a request for applications (RFA) for studies to assess competency in point-of-care ultrasound applications, defined as ultrasound imaging for diagnostic or therapeutic purposes performed on the patient by a provider in real time as a component of a care episode. The EER has allocated up to $50,000 for 1 or more grants. The submission deadline is March 1, 2012. More detailed information is available on the AIUM website.
