What do the group feel about pediatric hips that have a normal alpha angle but more than 50% lateral uncoverage? I am inclined to read as normal but would value other thoughts....
If there is a great discrepency I would be worried about technique..
the coronal may be off axis you can make the acet look shallow if not directly over the acet.. remember you cannot make the coverage look too deep
Age of the infant is important, the younger, the less worried I would be about a slightly shallow coverage if the angle is normal.
I am more concerned that it is a real finding if the alpha angle is abnormal but the coverage is > 50%.. in those I would look carefully on the transverse views for possible subluxation and do follow up
