to prevent repetitive strain injury (RSI)/work-related upper-limb disorder (WRULD)It most often affects the upper limb of the scan arm and is thought to be caused by a combination of awkward posture due to poor workstation set-up and sustained static forces due to excessive twisting and pressure on the probe. The following measures will help to alleviate this problemTry to have a mixed caseload during the scan session.
Adjust the bed height in order to avoid stretching excessively up or down during the scan - have your eyes level with the top of the monitor to avoid excessive neck movements.Try to maintain good posture while seated for the scan - economically designed stools can help with this.
Try to rest the elbow of your scan arm gently on the patient.
Keep close to the patient in order to avoid the need to abduct your arm excessively during the scan.Position the console so that it is not necessary to stretch excessively over the patient.
Move the patient into oblique/decubitus positions when examining the kidneys/spleen. This prevents excessive rotation of the forearm.
I think PHYSIOTHERAPY OR TREATMENT can work if it is not profession related, otherwise you will bad posture strech on your arm and shoulder or back while scanning and after finishing the job you will have to go for physiotherapy---i suggest take some treatment then rest but permanent solution is to take care of you posture and scanning posture that will help more.

what you need is a medical exercise by an experienced medical physiotherapist because repetitive strains can bring chronic pain if not treated early and efficiently but when it become chronic it is difficult to treat

I know it's still early but I just checked flights for the convention. Southwest is haveing a fare sale. It might be a good time to start looking for cheap flights.

Looking forward to seeing everyone in San Diego.

One of the UAMS graduates and former faculty members is now in Rwanda as a missionary. She is in need of a portable sonographic instrument that will be suitable for OB/GYN and abdominal sonography. She is expecting to be in the USA in December, and could pick up the machine if anyone has access to one. You can contact her directly at David and Lori [ mailto:dlkimbrow@gmail.com] or contact her through me.

Thanks, Terry
