"Clinical Ultrasound in Tropical Infectious Diseases" will be offered in East Africa (Mwanza,Tanzania), September 4-8, 2017. It is the first time this course is being opened up to outside participants. Dr Daniel Kaminstein and Dr W. Ted Kuhn have been teaching the course for 7 years in East Africa through the London School of Tropical Medicine but the course was closed to everyone except those in the diploma or masters of tropical medicine course in London. The course is patterned after their very successful Peru course with a similar curriculum, similar “hands-on” experiences, and several of the same faculty. There is a heavy burden of tropical infectious diseases in both the tertiary referral hospital (Bugando) and in the regional hospital where scanning takes place. The hotel on Lake Victoria is very nice and close to the 2 hospitals where teaching and scanning occur. After the course is over, excursions are available to Mount Kilimanjaro, the Serengeti, and Zanzibar.
