"Hello, the response to the CI to placenta is that nothing out of the ordinary ever was seen. Just the fibroid and I don't recall the fibriod ever being noted as submucosal or even close. It was partially in the myometrium. No answer ever seems…"

"Was it a normal 3VC, and what about the location of the cord insertion into the placenta. And does anyone have any experience on a marginal cord insertion and doppler and flow abnormalities, and SFD/IUGR. I have never seen or heard anything like…"

Syed Amir Gilani replied to Dawn G.'s discussion cord doppler in the group Obstetric Ultrasound Community
"Interesting case;Few questions can be asked before reaching any conclusion;1) which type of fibroid it was 2) what was status of perfusion in that fibroid on doppler with PI 3) Was the fibroid cause of IUGR in this case.4) When the IUGR first…"

"DEAR LISA M ALLEN;Good idea I agree with everything and 99% agreed with you except last two lines (although you just provided nice info, and you are not emphysizing on it but we can not corelate whole of the fetal ultrasound with NT,yes if there is a…"

Lisa M. Allen replied to Dawn G.'s discussion cord doppler in the group Obstetric Ultrasound Community
"The velamentous cord insertion could possibly explain the detachment of the cord from the placenta during delivery. No, we rarely get NT values under 1mm. I just reviewed our most recent NTQR epidemiologic reports and only a few over the past 12…"

"There was not note made of a velamentous CI. I suppose it's possible. Do you see abnl dopplers w/ those very often? I have only had a small handful of them and no abnl dopps. Do you do NT at your facility? Do you get many measurements under…"

"I gave it some more thought..Do you know where the cord insertion into the placenta was. Could it have been velamentous? "

Dawn G. replied to Dawn G.'s discussion cord doppler in the group Obstetric Ultrasound Community
"The fibriod was fundal and it was about 8cm. AFI was always low end of normal. I am in an ob/gyn clinic. If we get anything too high-risk we will send them to the peri clinic that we work with. But as for the c dopp questions, I am bewildered.…"

Lisa M. Allen replied to Dawn G.'s discussion cord doppler in the group Obstetric Ultrasound Community
"As for the umbilical cord coming detached from the placenta during delivery, I have no expertise in this area and could not even comment. I am looking forward to others input on that matter. It certainly is puzzling that the cord Doppler would be…"

cord doppler

Hello, I have a question that I have been wondering about for a very long time. I have asked this question to a couple of other techs and a couple of docs, but I have never gotten anything even relatively close to an answer that makes any sence. We had a pt in our clinic who was 40 years old and came in for a hyst consult due to a moderately large fibriod. During the visit, doc did a UPT which was +. When she came in for her FAS, I noted that the plac was attached right under the fibriod. I…See More
