I am aware that repaired probes could suffer from poor performance in the elevation plane, even though the probe passes the uniformity test. Elevational side lobes reduce the contrast in the image. I do not know how widespread is the use of such probes. Has anyone made a study looking across probes in the same department where many of the same type of probe are in use? If so, have you noticed any difference in the contrast?
