Interventional pain mangement
Can an ER MD start a pain clinic, using ultrasound for facet, epidural injections using ultrasound guidance. The MD has not formal ulrasound training, except a short rotation through Radiology during residency. This ER Doctor images knees for fluid drainage with ultrasound guidance, nerve blocks..ect...she is billing for both tecnical and professional compents..but has had no formal training or CME's in ultrasound
